Almost all PCs have a graphics card, also known as a GPU. But how do you know your graphics card? Whether the latter is integrated into the motherboard (like Intel HD Graphics for example) or is an integral part of your machine (which is the case for the Nvidia GE Force 750 model), it is essential to know what equips your PC. Indeed, depending on the capabilities of the graphics card, it is possible to install more or less powerful games on your computer. You will also be able to use it to make 3D drawings or simulations for example. Discover the four methods in order to know its graphics card (brand, model, specificities etc.).

Using The Windows Task Manager

The first option is to use the Windows Task Manager in order to find out which graphics card is present on your PC. In order to open the task manager, here are four solutions you can use:

  • Register taskmgr in “start”;
  • Right-click on the taskbar and then click on “Task Manager”;
  • Simultaneously use the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys in order to go to the Windows security menu and choose “Task Manager”;
  • And finally, use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Esc.

Once one of these options is done, you will notice in the GPU 0 area the name of the video card. This is located under the tab named “ Performance ”. Click. Finally, at the top right, you will see the brand and model of the card in your PC.

Using The Directx Diagnostic Tool

Go to the start menu and indicate “dxdiag” to open DirectX. Then press the “Enter” key.

On the 1st page of the DirectX diagnostic tool, you will find your machine’s system information: operating system, processor (CPU) specifications, available RAM, BIOS version and computer brand. The information of interest to us is located under the tab named “Display”. To access it, click on “Next page”.

Once under this tab, you will get the name of your graphics card, its designer and its model. Note that other information such as the RAM dedicated to the graphics processor is also present.

Use The “system Information” Tool

Press the Win + R keys at the same time so that the “Run” dialogue box opens. Then enter msinfo32 in the specific text area and press OK.

When the “System Information” window appears to be open, click on more, located in front of “Components”. Then go to “Display”. You will then see in the right area the presence of information on the graphics card (type of card, RAM, specificities, etc.)

By Looking In The Computer

If it is impossible for you to start the computer, if the latter is for example broken down, know that it is possible to know its graphics card (designer, model etc.) by going under the hood of the machine. Once done, the name, as well as the brand of the card, can easily be seen.
